General Purpose of Job:
Responsible for providing assessment, evaluation, and treatment of patients in assigned Practice(s) settings under the delegated authority and supervision of the physicians within the scope of medical practice set forth by the State of Michigan and the medical staff of Sparrow Health System.
Essential Duties:
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Provides patient care in assigned practice(s) settings including performing physical examinations and operative and/or invasive procedures as outlined in an individual collaborative agreement with supervising physicians, diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions, ordering and reviewing appropriate diagnostic testing.
- Assess patients, document care provided in the medical records, write prescriptions, and manage the care of assigned patients for physician review.
- Counsels patients with regard to preventative health care and wellness.
- Provides formal and informal education programs to practice associates and patients.
Job Requirements:
General Requirements | * Michigan Physician Assistant Licensure. * Current BCLS/ACLS |
Work Experience | Minimum of 5 years Cardiovascular experience EMR experience (preferred) |
Education | Graduate of Accredited NP/PA program |
Specialized Knowledge and Skills | * Demonstrated clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate medical interventions. * Interpersonal skill to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other health system associates. * Demonstrated excellent verbal, and written, communication skills. * Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job. |
